Health Department to Offer Free Dental Screenings on Friday, Feb. 1 ‘Give Kids A Smile Day’

DUPAGE COUNTY-The DuPage County Health Department is joining the American Dental Association (ADA) to observe the annual 'Give Kids A Smile Day' on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019.

DuPage County Health Department dentists along with volunteer dentists from the community will offer free dental screenings.

Over the last five years, the health department has provided 1,713 free dental procedures to 440 DuPage County children on Give Kids A Smile Day.

The services will be available to children ages 1 to 18, and to 21 for those with special healthcare needs, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at these locations:

· DuPage County Health Department Dental Clinic, and on the 'Smile Squad' Mobile Dental Clinic, at 111 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.
· DuPage Children's Museum, 301 N. Washington Street, Naperville.

No appointment is necessary.

School dental forms will be provided at both locations. In addition, children will receive oral health education and a free oral healthcare kit.

The 'Give Kids A Smile Day' event is part of the national program which began in 2003 by the American Dental Association (ADA), as a way for dentists to join with others in the community to provide dental services to underserved children. Each year, about 400,000 children benefit from more than 1,500 events, thanks to the efforts of 40,000 volunteers nationwide.
