What if I need another kind of mammogram or a breast ultrasound?

Diagnostic mammograms and breast ultrasounds are sometimes ordered to clarify medical and/or X-ray findings. These are covered by the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program. The medical provider may order some tests that are not covered by the program, and you may be responsible for payment for some diagnostic exams. A list of allowable services is available upon request (contact the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program). The nurse or case manager will help you find resources in these situations.
