HOPE Taskforce to Offer
Second Round of Grant Funding
DUPAGE COUNTY— The DuPage County Heroin/Opioid Prevention and Education (HOPE) Taskforce is pleased to announce another funding opportunity to address the opioid crisis in DuPage County. Areas of interest for this funding cycle include reducing access to drugs, reducing opioid use and misuse, overdose response and prevention (including harm reduction), treatment and recovery, and substance use prevention and education.
“Thanks to the DuPage County Chairman and Board, we are pleased to offer our community partners additional funding that impacts our residents at a time when we know they need assistance most,” said Greg Hart, HOPE Taskforce Co-chair. “We’re targeting programs that perhaps don’t qualify for other funding opportunities and provide real answers and measurable solutions for those struggling with addiction and for their families.”
The total funding available for the round is $87,000. Grant awards are expected to be between $10,000 and $50,000. However, the Taskforce will review applications for less than this range. Projects that serve a majority of individuals on Medicaid and/or individuals who are uninsured will be given priority.
“The HOPE Taskforce seeks to ensure any individuals impacted by substance use disorder have full access to substance use prevention, education, treatment and recovery services.” said Dr. Lanny Wilson, HOPE Taskforce Co-chair “We encourage additional community partners to submit applications and provide innovative ways to end the opioid crisis.”
Grant submissions must be received by the HOPE Taskforce no later than 12:00pm noon CT on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
