Financial Assistance

As part of our dedication to support the residents of DuPage County, the Health Department offers discounted service fees for clients with an income level below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). Discount amounts are based on household size and income level.

What if I do not qualify for a discount?

In addition to discounted services, the Health Department has two additional programs to offer financial assistance. 

  • Payment plans are available for both self-pay and insured patients.
  • Temporary Hardship: 
    • Client must also be able to demonstrate one or more of the following circumstances:
      • Are homeless or experiencing a housing disruption (eviction, foreclosure)
      • Experiencing domestic violence
      • Experiencing the loss of a job or financial resources
      • Experiencing death or terminal illness of a family member
      • Experiencing a fire, flood, or other natural or human-caused disaster that caused substantial damage to your property.
      • Filing for bankruptcy

How to Apply 

 There are two ways to apply for Financial Assistance:

  • Schedule a Financial Assistance appointment with a financial counselor by calling (630) 221-7654.
  • Complete a Financial Assistance Application and return with proofs to 111 N County Farm Rd, Wheaton IL 60187 Attn: Financial Assistance.   Once it is reviewed, a financial counselor will contact you to discuss your options.
