The School Health Program provides consultation and education to schools, preschools, day cares, parents and related professionals, in the areas of disease prevention and health promotion. The Program also provides Vision and Hearing Screenings for preschool through school age children.
Immunizations are offered at the Wheaton, Westmont, and Lombard Offices. Both childhood and adult immunizations are available. Childhood immunizations are available for all children who do not have insurance, or who have insurance that does not cover immunizations, through the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
Identifying vision and hearing deficiencies at an early age will lessen the likelihood these deficiencies will turn into learning disorders and behavioral problems and serves as the goal for this program. Vision and hearing conservation education is provided to parents, school staff and the community.
