Refugee Health Services

The Refugee Health Screening Program provides health screenings to anywhere from 100 to 400 new refugees, asylees, parolees, and Special Immigrant Visas arriving in DuPage County each year.

The goals of the initial health screenings are:

  • To eliminate barriers to successful resettlement
  • To ensure individuals with health problems identified are referred to primary and specialty care
  • To identify individuals with health conditions not observed during or developing after the overseas exam
  • To initiate appropriate immunizations
  • To protect the health of the United States population

World Relief Referral

Only immigrants who are referred from World Relief may receive screening services through DuPage County Health Department.
