Credentialing

All positions with the Health Department will require reference checks and criminal background checks prior to an offer of employment. Some positions may additionally require professional credentialing. Credentialing is a process that reviews and verifies the qualifications of service providers and coordinates connection to insurance companies in order for our providers to bill for services provided. Depending on the position, the credentialing process may include, but is not limited to, a comprehensive review of:

  • Certification
  • Education
  • Fingerprinting
  • Licensure
  • Residency
  • Training

If offered a position with the DuPage County Health Department, completion of appropriate credentialing paperwork is critical. Failure to complete credentialing-related forms may delay a start date. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of the background check and credentialing processes.
