The DuPage County Health Department's (DCHD) Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response program works to ensure DuPage County is prepared to respond to public health emergencies. Examples of public health emergencies include infectious disease outbreaks, natural disasters, bioterrorism and other events that threaten our health.
DCHD is the lead agency in a public health emergency affecting the county, and develops and tests plans and responds to threats to our health by working closely with:
- Communities and municipalities
- Emergency management officials
- Fire departments
- Hospitals
- Police departments
- Schools
- Other agencies
