Professional Enforcement Training Resources

Best Practices for Compliance with the VGBA (2019) Training: This two-part video training is focused to ANSI/APSP-16 (2011) American Standard for Suction Fittings.  In 2021, this standard was updated as ANSI/APSP/ICC-16-2017 (PA) American Standard for Suction Outlet Fitting Assemblies (SOFAs).  This training consists of a two-part video series and a training quiz that will take approximately two hours to complete.

The goal of the training is to increase professionals’ knowledge of best practices for compliance with the VGBA to prevent suction entrapment and drowning.

The intended audience includes pool and spa facility owners/operators, pool or facility managers, aquatics industry service and installation representatives.

These videos are best viewed using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge browsers.  After viewing both videos, please complete the training quiz. Upon successful submission of the quiz, a Certificate of Completion can be printed. Please click the DONE button to access your training certificate as a PDF.
