Stress Busters

Grades 3-8

Kids experience stress in many ways. Some are over scheduled, worried or afraid, while others have butterflies before a test, event or performance. The following discussion questions and activities will help students identify, reduce, and avoid stress, as well as know the difference between good and bad stress. Students will be introduced to the S.E.L.F model which will help them deal with stress and will come up with some stress management methods that they can use to manage their stress. Students will also be asked to think of some unhealthy ways people try and handle stress vs. healthy ways people can handle stress.

Student Learning Objectives:

  • Students will identify causes of stress
  • Students will explore ways to avoid stress
  • Students will identify ways to manage stress
