Health Insurance for Illinois
Children
KidCare Program
KidCare is a state of Illinois program that offers health insurance to
income pregnant women and children up to the age of 19. Although each plan
is slightly different in its income qualifications, a family of four earning
approximately $37,000 a year could be eligible.
There are five KidCare plans available, based on income, insurance status
and family situation: KidCare Assist, KidCare Moms and Babies, KidCare
Share, KidCare Premium and KidCare Rebate.

KidCare Rebate helps families who have employer-sponsored health insurance pay
the premiums for insuring their children by paying the employee up to $75 per
month per child.
FamilyCare
FamilyCare is a State of Illinois Health Insurance program that pays health care
costs for parents living with their children 18 years old or younger. FamilyCare
also covers relatives who are caring for children in place of their parents.
Parents can get FamilyCare if they live in Illinois and meet the income
requirements.
Like KidCare, FamilyCare covers doctor visits, dental care, specialty medical
services, hospital care, emergency services, prescription drugs, and more.
