Blood Pressure and Wellness Clinics
Public Health Nurses and Health Educators are available to screen blood pressure, answer health-related questions and provide referrals to community resources. To schedule an appointment, contact your local public health center. No charge for services.

In-Home Visits
A public health nurse may be able to provide services in the home. In-home services are limited to general health and home safety assessments for at-risk clients, short-term follow-up as needed for health monitoring, health education, medication review, nutrition counseling, referral and linkage to community resources. Public health nurses do not provide skilled nursing care or custodial care services. To make a referral, contact your local public health center or our Central Intake at 630-682-7979, ext. 7676.

Mental Health Services
 
Group Psychiatric Services
The Southeast Public Health Center offers bi-monthly psychiatric services and a support group for older adults struggling with depression or mental illness. Services are provided to clients in a group setting by an interdisciplinary team of professionals. Call  630-627-1700 for information. 

Emergency Mental Health Services
The Access and Crisis Center provides short-term, crisis intervention for mental health emergencies with follow-up and referral to community resources provided as appropriate. Sliding fee scale, public aid and Medicare are accepted. Call 630-627-1700.

Nutrition Services
A variety of nutrition services are available to seniors. If you would like to speak with a registered dietitian, call 630-682-7979, ext. 7652.

Dental Services
Dental care for uninsured people with urgent oral problems such as tooth pain, bleeding, infection and/or swelling. Fee of $10.00 charged. but Patients are qualified in advance of treatment to verify financial and residential eligibility. Referrals to low cost dental services are also provided. Immunizations 
Immunizations for tetanus, diphtheria, flu and pneumonia (seasonal) are available at your local public health center. Please call ahead for the clinic schedule. Fees vary. Medicare may cover some fees. 

TB Clinic
The Health Department has a TB clinic in Wheaton 
for tuberculosis testing, follow-up and treatment.

Travel Clinic
The Travel Clinic at the DuPage County Health Department in Wheaton offers vaccinations for those travelling outside of the United States. Call 630-682-7979, ext. 7590 to schedule an appointment. Fees vary.
