Mobile Vending Trucks
The Dupage County Health Department requires all Mobile Vending Trucks have a current food handling permit.
What is a Mobile Vending Truck?
A mobile food truck is a vehicle-mounted food service establishment designed to be driven on public streets.

The following items are needed to receive a mobile vending permit:
- Call to schedule an inspection.
- Review the Mobile Vending Truck Requirements.
- Complete and submit the mobile vendor plan review form, if applicable (Risk 3 trucks only).
- Complete a mobile vending application form.
- Pay the current permit fee based on risk type.
- Provide a copy of your commissary's inspection report (and/or inspection reports for other suppliers of food) less than six (6) months old, showing that all foods served come from approved sources or suppliers.
- Complete Letter of Agreement to Use Commissary.
Risk Type Definition
| Risk Type 1A | Prepackaged frozen potentially hazardous foods, packaged ice cream, and novelties. |
| Risk Type 2A | Hot & cold holding of prepackaged potentially hazardous foods and dispensed beverages. |
| Risk Type 3A | Non-potentially and potentially hazardous foods that are cooked or prepared with minimal assembly on site. A manager certified in food service sanitation must be on staff full time.

During the Inspection...
- Provide cold and hot food items (if applicable) to verify equipment is working. Mobile Vending Truck must be in compliance before license is issued.
- Color-coded stickers will be placed on the front and rear bumper identifying the vehicle as a licensed mobile vending unit.
- The permit must be renewed annually.
- A copy of the inspection report will be provided to keep in the vehicle.

Routine field inspections will be made throughout the year to verify that the vehicle and operation are in compliance with current code.
