DUPAGE COUNTY-Is raising young children more challenging than you expected? Would you like some parenting ideas about discipline, setting routines and even taking care of yourself?
The DuPage County Health Department can help. The Health Department is sponsoring a three-session parenting class on Tuesday nights in April in Westmont. The classes are intended for parents of children ages one to four. They should be taken as a three-class series.
The evening classes cover many of the challenges of being parents, including disciplining young children, routines to make life easier, childproofing the home and suggestions for parents to take care of themselves.
The classes are scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. on April 12, April 19 and April 26 at the Health Department's Southeast Public Health Center, 422 North Cass Ave., Westmont.
Call (630) 682-7400, ext. 7607 or e-mail jdiskin@dupagehealth.org to register. The cost is $20 per family and that includes a workbook. For information on upcoming parenting classes in Spanish, call ext. 7985.
