DuPage County's obesity prevention initiative, FORWARD, is building a foundation for the future and invites you join the movement to help reverse the trend of obesity.
The semi-annual coalition meeting and first birthday celebration is taking place on April 16 from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Danada House, 3S501 Naperville Road, Wheaton.
Join FORWARD as we celebrate our first birthday, reflecting on our history and accomplishments in the last year and learn more about the innovative strategies we will use to make DuPage the healthiest county in the nation. Agenda topics include unveiling DuPage County obesity and overweight data, building the FORWARD Regions and developing the community Centers of Expertise.
FORWARD (Fighting Obesity Reaching healthy Weight Among Residents of DuPage) has grown from a small organized planning effort in August, 2008 to a county-wide leadership effort implemented in May, 2009. FORWARD works though an inclusive, diverse, informed coalition of passionate individuals, programs, and agencies. We believe that it is necessary to have collaboration from a variety of sectors to create community-wide system, policy and environmental changes.
Anyone who is committed to healthy lifestyles can be a FORWARD partner, including families, kids, adults, organizations, businesses, government offices. Together We Will reverse the trend of obesity in DuPage!
