DuPage County Health Department would like to remind you that it's not too late to get vaccinated.
National Influenza Vaccination Week is a national observance that was established to highlight the importance of continuing influenza vaccination into January and beyond. Vaccination is the most important step in protecting against influenza.
Influenza is unpredictable and H1N1 influenza is likely to continue to spread in 2010. The best way to protect yourself, and those you care about, is to get your H1N1 and seasonal influenza vaccinations.
The DuPage County Health Department's goal is to assist DuPage County residents in obtaining greater access to H1N1 influenza vaccine. To locate a convenient location near you, residents are encouraged to use the flu vaccine locator found at www.protectdupage.org or www.flu.gov.
Residents seeking to make an appointment to receive the H1N1 vaccine at the health department may call (866)311-1123 to schedule a vaccination. DuPage County senior citizens may call (800) 662-9555 to make a vaccination appointment.
In addition to getting vaccinated, county residents can stay healthy and limit the spread of flu by remembering the 3 Cs:
CLEAN - wash your hands frequently to prevent the spread of germs.
COVER - your cough and sneeze with a tissue or sleeve, not in your hand.
CONTAIN - contain your germs. Stay home if you are sick.
