Kyle Gilgis of Downers Grove, who represents District 3 on the DuPage County Board, is a new member of the DuPage County Board of Health. She was appointed by County Board Chairman Robert J. Schillerstrom.
Ms. Gilgis is active in numerous organizations, including professional, educational, community and political groups, in addition to serving on DuPage County Board committees.
"It's an honor to join the Board of Health and offer my ideas on how to improve the health of individuals and families in DuPage County. Health is so important to everyone. I am thrilled to assist the county's Health Department with its important mission," said Gilgis.
Linda Kurzawa, President of the Board of Health and a fellow county board member, added: "We are looking forward to the community perspective that Kyle will bring to the Board of Health on how to improve the quality of life for all DuPage County residents."
Gilgis replaces Pamela Rion, who previously served on both the DuPage County Board and the Board of Health.
The Board of Health meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the health department's Central Public Health Center, 111 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton.
