Resources for Municipalities

Healthy environments are critical for communities to flourish. Residents need access to safe places to walk, bike, and play as well as access to healthy, affordable food in order to live healthy lives. Obesity affects all ages in DuPage County, underscoring the need for early interventions as well as sustainable, comprehensive changes.

The Data

The most recent DuPage County data show that one in six 2-4 year olds enrolled in WIC were obese, one in seven kindergarten, sixth grade, and ninth grade public school students were obese, and one in four adults in DuPage County identified as obese.
