THE PROBLEMS

1 in 5 Americans are affected by a mental disorder.
Anxiety, stress, and depression are the most prominent mental health
problems.
There is a relationship between depression and poor physical health.
Depression is the #1 cause of disability and the 4th leading cause of
hospitalization in DuPage County.

IN DU PAGE COUNTY DURING THE PAST 12 MONTHS

25,023 (3.8%) adults and 3,142 (1.9%) children reported fair or poor mental health
71,777 (10.9%) adults accomplished less than desired due to emotional problems
61,241 (9.3%) adults felt downhearted or blue a good bit of the time, most of the time or all of the time
22,389 (3.4%) adults are currently being seen by a mental health professional
