Did you know that your public health department significantly contributes to the economic, social and cultural well-being of DuPage County and for less than the cost of an annual subscription to a daily newspaper in tax dollars!

Investment in public health programs yields significant cost savings of your tax dollars as well as maintaining the community’s high quality of life. A few tangible benefits include:

Immunizations return an average $12 for each $1 spent

Family planning services save $4.40 for each $1 spent

Mental Health programs reduced the cost of caring for children with severe disabilities from $60,000/year in state institutions to $30,000/year in the community

Looking to the future, the Volunteers for Public Health will continue to assist community leaders and the general public to understand the DuPage County Health Department’s role in promoting the continuum of health care for the citizens of the county.
