Training scheduled for volunteers registered
In DuPage County Medical Reserve Corps
The DuPage County Health Department is offering training programs for
dentists, dental hygienists, EMTs, nurses, pharmacists and physicians who
are registered volunteers in the DuPage County Medical Reserve Corps.
The training programs are scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Dec. 15. The
sessions serve as an introduction to the procedures and operations of a
medication dispensing site, and will contain the same content as the
training programs that were hosted in June and July. Please be aware that
you must be a currently licensed dentist, dental hygienist, EMT, nurse,
pharmacist or physician to attend.
During a major disease outbreak, such as a bioterrorism event, volunteers
may be needed to assist with medication dispensing. Anyone who is 18 or
older and is able to pass a criminal background check may sign up as a
volunteer at
www.citizencorpsdupage.org. Volunteers without a healthcare background
are also encouraged to join.
The training will take place at the DuPage County Health Department, 111
North County Farm Road, Wheaton.
Volunteers already registered with the Medical Reserve Corps may sign up
for a training session by calling (630) 682-7925.
