Smoke-free restaurants available
During Great American Smokeout on Thursday

Many DuPage County restaurants have pitched in this year to give smokers support with their decisions to quit smoking, for at least one day, on Thursday (Nov. 17) during the nationwide Great American Smokeout®.

This event is organized by the American Cancer Society each year to encourage smokers to take a day off from smoking and to support non-smokers who have kicked the habit. The DuPage County Health Department supports this event as a way to reduce the illness and death associated with tobacco.

If you are a smoker who plans to quit on Nov. 17 for at least one day and you are looking for a smoke-free breakfast, lunch or dinner, call the health department’s tobacco cessation program for information on restaurants in your area.

There are more than 500 restaurants in DuPage County who are always smoke free. Find them at www.dupagehealth.org/tobacco.

Please call (630) 682-7979 ext. 7044 or 7300 for information on quitting or for assistance with finding a restaurant in your area that will be smoke free on Nov. 17.

For Internet information on quitting, please visit www.acs.org, www.lungusa.org, or www.anti-smoking.org/quitting.
