Application Procedures For Percolation Tests
For a percolation test to be valid, a representative of the DuPage County Health Department must witness it. The DuPage County Health Department schedules appointments for witnessing percolation tests and charges a fee per test. Private contractors and property owners may conduct percolation tests.
Fees for witnessing percolation tests shall be required for:
- Development of vacant property.
- Deed division or subdivision approval with onsite wastewater systems.
- Tear down and redevelopment of properties when a new system is required.
- Requests for written reports indicating seasonal high water limitations, inadequate isolation distances, etc.
Fees shall not be required for:
- Percolation tests for septic repairs or renovations.
- Informal requests for seasonal high water limitations, inadequate isolation distances, etc. without a written report.
To schedule an appointment for a percolation test, the following items need to be submitted to the DuPage County Health Department at the address below:
- A completed Percolation Test Application form.
- The appropriate fee.
Note: Once the form and fee have been received, the DuPage County Health Department will schedule a percolation test with the applicant. If a percolation test is cancelled, the applicant may reschedule the same test or schedule another test using the fee.
