DUPAGE COUNTY-The DuPage County Health Department is pleased to announce that its Healthy Families America Program has been re-accredited for four years following an intensive review process by the national office.
Healthy Families America, a signature program of Prevent Child Abuse America, provides high quality home visitation services to families who want to improve their child's health, nutrition and development.
The review process examined 12 critical elements, including the quality of home visits made by Health Department family workers, who are trained to ease the concerns of expectant and new parents by answering their questions about their child's development and, when needed, refer them to community services.
"All parents want to be good parents and this vote of confidence by Health Families America shows the Health Department is on the right track to providing high quality home visitation services," said Linda Kurzawa, DuPage County Board of Health President.
