BOLD TITLE = MEDICAL PERSONNEL


ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Purpose: To coordinate logistics related to staff and non-medical supplies

  • Coordinate organization and distribution of forms and supplies, excluding medical supplies
  • Monitor time records, staff schedules, and patient records
  • Assist volunteer coordinator if necessary

 

CLIENT GUIDE

Purpose: To guide, direct and be of assistance to patients at the site

  • Provide guidance and direction to clients throughout the medication dispensing process 
  • Keep patients informed about wait times 
  • Respond to FAQs using prepared materials 
  • Monitor the crowd for situations requiring security interventions

 

FOOD SERVICE

  • Provide food and refreshments to the volunteers and staff of the dispensing site

 

HEALTH EDUCATOR

To address the basic concerns of patients

  • Assure activation of educational videos or presentations
  • Be able to answer basic questions about medication and illness
  • Assist clients in form completion

INTERPRETER

Purpose: To interpret instructions to non-English speaking patients and answer their questions

  • Interpret for clients that are non-English Speaking
  • Assist clients with the language line
  • Help in any area where support is needed when not interpreting

 

INVENTORY COORDINATOR

  • Oversee the inventory of medication and supplies
  • Communicate with Site Commander on regular basis regarding inventory
  • Supervise inventory clerks

 

INVENTORY CLERK

  • Assure that distribution team has adequate supplies of medication at each station
  • Collect Medication Administration Records from distribution team
  • Assist with tallying

 

MEDICATION DISPENSER

Purpose: To distribute medications directly to patients at the site

  • Verify eligibility of clients to receive medication
  • Label and dispense medication
  • Answer basic client questions, refer more complex or time-consuming questions
  • Supervise non-health professionals who may be assisting in dispensing process

PHYSICIAN

To serve as a resource for medically complex issues that may arise 

  • Serve as medical resource by answering questions for clients, staff, Charge Person, Health educator, etc. 
  • Consult with pharmacist, triage/first aid, write prescriptions if needed, make determinations on medication for medically complex clients 
  • Label and dispense medications as time permits

PHARMACIST

Prepare medication for all patients at the site 

  • Prepare medication for pediatric doses if necessary
  • Serve as pharmacology resource to staff and clients 
  • Label and dispense medications as time permits 
  • Consult with physician or charge person as needed



PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFESSIONAL

Purpose: To reduce stress and anxiety among volunteers, staff, and clients

  • Handle complex, mentally stressed individuals
  • Communicate with other workers to identify stressed clients
  • Monitor waiting lines and intervene with individuals

 

REGISTRATION STAFF

To distribute necessary forms to the public upon entrance to the site. To initiate necessary documentation for medication distribution.

  • Provides clerical support at the registration area 
  • Distributes forms, fact sheets, consent forms to clients 
  • Screen clients and direct them where to proceed

 

TRIAGE/FIRST AID

To determine the status of course of action for ill or symptomatic patients

  • Perform basic medical screening of ill or symptomatic clients, and ask them questions to determine health status 
  • Perform basic first aid if necessary 
  • If appropriate, direct patients to on-site Physician or off-site treatment facility
