Prenatal & Pregnancy Services

  1. Are prenatal services offered by the health dept ?

    Yes, prenatal enrollment clinic's are offered at each of our five center locations for low-income families that do not currently have health insurance. To determine your financial eligibility and/or make an appointment, call 630/682-7400.

    Once you are determined eligible for the Prenatal Program, you will be offered a choice of doctors who will then take care of your medical needs during your pregnancy and deliver your baby.

    You will also be provided the services of a Public Health Nurse that will help you coordinate other services that you may be eligible for within the health department and in the community.

    As part of the Prenatal Program, you may be eligible for WIC services. This is a nutrition supplement program.

  2. How do I pay for these prenatal services?

    There is no cost to you to come to our prenatal clinic.

    When you come to your first prenatal clinic appointment, one of the services we provide is assisting you in applying for Medicaid/KidCare. This Medicaid coverage will be the payment source for the doctor and hospital delivery costs.

  3. Who will deliver my baby and where?

    You will be offered a choice of several doctors in the community. This doctor will be responsible for your prenatal care. You will deliver at the hospital where he or she practices.

  4. Will you help me apply for Medicaid?

    One of the services provided in the Family Case Management program is assistance with applying for Medicaid/KidCare. We have specially trained staff that can assist you with the application process so that you may not have to go to the Public Aid Office to apply for Medicaid/KidCare.
