- Is your service free - do I need to pay at
the clinic?
Our service cost is based on your household income unless you are a minor
seeking confidential services. Then we assess only your income. We ask that
you bring recent check stubs to clinic to enable us to determine an accurate
fee. We accept IPA (Public Aid).
- Do you have the "Morning After
Pill" (Emergency Contraception)?
Yes, we offer Emergency Contraception, which is not the "Abortion Pill".
Please call with any questions or concerns.
- Do you do pregnancy tests?
Yes, we offer pregnancy counseling / testing by appointment. There are
also two walk-in clinics which are held on the 2nd
and 4th Mondays from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the East Public Health Center
located at 1111 East Jackson Street, Lombard, IL and on the 2nd and 4th
Fridays from
2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at the West Chicago Health and Education Center at 245
W. Roosevelt Rd. Bldg. 14, unit 148.
- Is my visit confidential - Do you let my
parents know?
Everyone who visits our clinics - no matter what their age - can be assured
that the information about their visit is confidential. We cannot discuss
any information about any client without the client giving us permission to
do so.
- Do you do abortion or do you refer for abortion?
There are no abortions performed at DuPage County Health Department.
Whenever there is a positive pregnancy test, we are required to inform the
client of all options available to them. If the decision is to terminate,
referral resources are available.
- What kinds of contraception do you offer?
We offer the following methods:
- Birth control pills
- Depo Provera
- IUD
- Condoms - Male and Female
- Diaphragm
- Patch
We do not offer, but can refer for:
- Natural Family Planning
- Cervical Cap
- Sponge
- What are the hours of your clinics - do you
have clinics on Saturday?

All scheduled clinic visits are by appointment except for the Lombard
Public Health Center pregnancy
testing on the 2nd and 4th Mondays and the West Chicago Health and Education
Center on Fridays..
We do not have Saturday hours at this time.

- How do I get birth control through your
clinic?
If you reside in DuPage County, you need to call us at (630) 682-7400 to
make an appointment. During your visit, you will be asked to complete
a medical history. You will talk to a nurse and a counselor, and be
examined by a physician or nurse practitioner. After that, a method of
birth control will be prescribed for you. We will supply you with the
method, or with a prescription for the method.
- Do you take insurance?
We ask for
payment at the time of service. However, we will provide a copy of your bill
to you so that you can submit the information to your insurance company.
