DUPAGE COUNTY-The DuPage County Health Department, in conjunction with the DuPage County Board, is pleased to announce a new discount dental program that will help DuPage County residents who are uninsured or underinsured. The new program is not dental insurance, but rather it allows participants to get discounts on a wide range of dental procedures.
Under the County's new initiative, all persons will be accepted. Participants will see savings from 5 percent to 50 percent on dental procedures such as routine oral exams, cleanings, dentures, root canals, crowns and more. There will also be savings of 20 percent on orthodontics for both children and adults, as well as 20 percent savings on normal fees for all specialties-where available.
The enrollment fee for an individual is $6.95 per month or $59 annually. Enrollment for a family is $8.95 a month or $69 annually. All plans include a 30-day trial period.
"The card is easy to use and will save people money," said Linda Kurzawa, President of the DuPage County Board of Health. "Cardholders simply schedule an appointment with a participating dentist or specialist and present their card to receive a discount at the time of service. There are no forms to complete and everyone in their household is eligible to receive a discount."
DuPage County Board Member James Healy (District 5) notes that the DuPage Dental Discount Program is "a result of DuPage County's affiliation with the National Association of Counties, which selected Careington as the vendor for the dental program following a lengthy evaluation process."
The DuPage Dental Discount Program is designed to complement health insurance plans or work in conjunction with health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts and health reimbursement arrangements. It is also a cost-effective way for younger retirees to meet their dental needs.
Residents can enroll in the DuPage Dental Discount Program by calling toll-free to 1 (877) 354-6226 or online at www.dupagehealth.org.
